MLB Roster
We will use a 25 Man Active MLB Roster. Positions are:
C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UT, SP, SP, SP, SP, SP, RP, RP, RP, RP, RP, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN.
There will be no DL slots on ESPN. If you would like to place a player on DL, please make a post in the DL section of transactions on the board, and then drop the player on ESPN. Do the same when activating the player. No maximum on DL slots.
Additionally, you are allowed to have a 40 man roster. This includes the 25 man active roster, plus up to 15 guys who are on the 40 man roster. This is primarily for depth players, but feel free to use it however you want within the confines of the rules. Players on DL will still be on the 40 man roster, but not the 25 man roster.
Movement between the rosters works like this. If you move a player from the active 25 man to the inactive part of the 40 man roster, it uses an option year. Each player starts the league with 3 option years. Once you use the option year, you can send the player back and forth between the 40 man inactive and 25 man active as many times as you want, as long as you post this. Its an option year, not just an option. To take a player off the 40 man roster completely, he must pass through waivers, and it also uses a option year. See waiver rules in transaction handbook
MiLB Roster
When starting the league, teams may place all prospects on this roster. Prospects are defined as having less than 130 AB or 50 IP. If a player has more than this, they can be on this roster, but you must pay them their actual contract. Each prospect is 100K, unless he signed a draft deal, as was the case with players such as Bryce Harper. If you call a player up to MLB or 40 Man, then he goes to either his real contract, or 500K (Default PreArbitration Value), OR stays on his assigned contract (Harper's case).
Transaction Log
Each team must have an updated transaction log. This will include all free agent signings, all releases, all trades, and all roster movement. Roster movement includes calling a guy up to MLB or 40 man, sending a guy down to 40 man or minors, and DL moves. Basically there are four factions of your roster. MLB, 40 Man (Non Active Part), MiLB, and DL. If a player moves to one of these from another, it needs to be documented. All transactions must have a date with them.
Draft Hub
This thread will include Rule 5 Draft Picks, and First Year Player (Amateur Draft) Picks. Each team will start with 10 picks for the upcoming amateur draft, with order based on the reverse of last years standings, and a non-snake draft. Each team will have 2 picks for the Rule 5 Draft, with a order based on the reverse of last years standings, but a snake draft. Keep this thread updated with any trading of picks. It must include a listing of prior years draftees as well.
