The Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins agree to the following trade:
Braves receive:
Robinson Cano, 2B, NYY (15M) 6.2 Million for '13 on Cano's salary
Marlins receive:
Howie Kendrick, 2B, ANA (8.8M, 9.4M, 9.5M) Alex Gonzalez, SP, TEX (prospect)
Zero net salary change
Braves accept. With Kendrick on the shelf I need a 2B, so why not go for the best? He's a FA at the end of the year, and if I don't make the playoffs I just created a major lineup hole for next season and gave away a solid prospect at the same time. Money included to keep me under cap.

Marlins accept. I was really hoping to make a nice run, and am now out of it. I don't think Cano will get accepted, which hurts (but he still has time), so I like Kendrick and Gonzalez for next years lineup and minor roster. Thanks for the smooth dealing and good luck to the Braves.
